Ancaster Agricultural Society Committees
Committee descriptions are still being added. If a
Committee member would like to submit a description for their committee
please email to webmaster@ancasterfair.ca.
Part of the description should include when the committee is active to
give new volunteers an idea of time commitment. ie all year, starting 3
months before fair, only during fair.
This Committee sets up the Marritt Hal Complex at Fair time.
This Committee meets the Saturday morning before the Fair at 9:30
am. We bring out all the various equipment that is used for the
Fair and set it up. This hall is used by the Homecraft committees
for all their displays. All the setup takes most of Saturday to
complete. On the Monday after the Fair we start at 9:30 am to take
everything apart and put it away for the next year.
The publicity committee is responsible for advertising the fair to the public.
In the past this has included all public relations for the Ancaster Agricultural Society. With the move to the new ground some of the
tasks of the publicity committee are falling on office staff but the image of the A.A.S. is still the preview of the publicity committee.
This is a committee that is active year round with radio and TV air times purchased in the
winter or early spring. The fair program is also put out by this
committee.
The special attractions committee is responsible to arranging the entertainment that goes on at the fair.
This includes acts for the main stage, performers for the communtiy stage and wandering buskers.
These booking are done early in the year so that program can be ready well before fair time. Also part of this committee
is the demolition derby and events that take place in the Derby Ring.
